[6] That peer-reviewed caution matters, because it means the influencer confidence is running well ahead of the actual science — for women especially.

What Specifically Goes Wrong When Women Follow Male-Derived Protocols

Extended fasting is one of the clearest examples of where male-default advice can misfire. Research on caloric restriction and time-restricted eating has historically used male animal models and male human subjects. Until that research exists at scale, both the male-default influencers and the women-focused disruptors are operating with more confidence than the evidence currently justifies.
